    Hi there

I was wondering if there were any therapists in the West Kent area with a disability. I am from the Tunbridge Wells District Partnership Group for people with a disability and we are planning an awareness day. I would appreciate it if you, or if you know of anyone that would be interested in taking part in this day that you would pass this on. You can either reply on here or email me.
We plan to have this day towards the end of the year in term time. It will be a 'positive' day enabling children from schools 16+, to be more aware of what people with a disability can do and for those children in transition of the aims and goals that are accesible and are well within reach.
I look forward to hearing from you

    Sue:)

Apologies - the day is being planned by the Speaking Up Group which is an off shoot the Tunbridge Wells District Partnership Group. If anyone would like to have more information then please email me. If I should have placed this somewhere else then apologies.

Sorry can't help you in the West Kent area, but I do know that in my area there was a young lady who is disabled learning reflexology (think she had already done aromatherapy) at the local college, maybe if you got in touch with your local college they may have a disabled student too and they could get in touch with them and pass your details on to them.

    Hi Sue

Just to say I am in the Tunbridge Wells area , I'm a therapist but I don't have a disability. If there is any way I can be of assistance though please let me know.

    Love

    Many thanks for your replies.
Silverbroomrider, Yes, we have contact with the local colleges and thank you for the thought.
Lotusflower, many thanks for the offer. This may not be the event, but we are planning another next year promoting leisure - it would be good if you would like to be involved in that . We want to promote as many diversities as possible and therapists would be great. We are at the planning stage of this project and will not be channeling efforts into this until the end of the year - but if you are interested I will keep you informed when we start.
    Many thanks again
    Sue

Thanks Sue - I would indeed be interested in being kept in the loop. Perhaps you could email me when you have any further info.

I have trained 2 disabled therapists. 1 was a totally blind girl who I trained in aromatherapy - the first blind person ever to qualify, and she lives in Sevenoaks. The other I trained in the use of ear candles and she was deaf, now although she lives in London she would come to help you as she loves to promote the fact that deaf people can be therapists.
