When Jesus the Son of God , was talking to the rich young man, he asked Jesus how shall I attain to the kingdom of Heaven, and Jesus said distribute all your wealth and follow me, as it was a barrier for him the rich young man, not for all.

The person whose wealth is in his hands can create jobs for thousands, that was the meaning behind Jesus's words, when he gave the advice of the rich young man, it was a barrier for him, not for all.

There is no such thing as luck only guidance, if we sow love we reap love, if we sow corn, we don't get Thistle, we only get the same as we sow. God is love.

    Peace and light

    Peter

That is not my understanding of what Jesus said to the rich man....it is about forsaking materialism. The greed for money (fostering the ego) can be what gets in the way of our true self/essence - our spirit/soul.

This thread really belongs under the Christianity section since spirituality is not aligned to orthodox religion. However, I will share an experience I had relating to this topic.

In my late teens I was street homeless (i.e. not sleeping on sofas at friend's places) but out on the streets; a rough sleeper (through circumstance i.e. having lost my job and bedsit simultaneously). As luck would have it, this situation was made less severe by being accompanied by 2 male friends, who I regarded like brothers, who always found somewhere for us to sleep for that night.

At the time I was deeply in love with someone - my first experience of something so profoundly beautiful and transforming in a very gentle way. I was also penniless and, at one point, barefoot. I found myself suddenly 'getting' Jesus....fully understanding him - being full of love. I had nothing, but I had everything...everything that was important.

Not being a Christian, I'm maybe not qualified to judge a book I don't believe in but - from the many Christian friends I have - my understanding of that passage is the same as Amy's. Your reading of its meaning seems to give support to capitalism.

Because I have had a stroke, I cannot always place in the right place, I try but my brain does not work well, it takes me about an hour, from start to finish every time.

    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Just try to realize this situation. It does not require much trouble to understand it. Many people approached Christ with questions, asking his advice about this or that. Gladly He advised them out on His great love, which never failed, because He was and also to day still is Living Love.

Thus gave to the person who asked and begged for it as he needed it. Let us take an example =

That rich young man who was eager to know the way in which could lead him to the Kingdom of Heaven. The Son of God advised him to distribute all that he possessed among the poor and then to follow Him.

To follow Christ means nothing else than to live strictly in accordance with His words.

The bystanders quickly seized upon this happening as they had seized upon so many others, passing it on in that manner in which each individual had perceived it. And that very seldom or never coincided with the actual meaning of Christ,s original words, for few words are arranged in a different form can change the entire sense.

The first person to pass it all, however, contented themselves with relating, giving a simple account of the happening. But later on such pieces of individual advice were turned into basic laws for the whole of mankind.

It was mankind who did this, however, and not Christ Himself the Son of God.

    ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

    Peace and light

    Peter

Peter - I am sorry to learn of your condition so do not wish to add to your difficulty. When I first read your OP I tried to find references of this in the Bible but drew a blank. Do you have a reference that backs your interaction between Jesus and the rich man?

God doesn't give us anything we can't handle, or deserve.

I get all my information from a book called in the Light of Truth, I have mentioned it here many times and put.

    Peace and light

I may be the odd ball here but to my understanding God only gives good. Any disorder we experience can be rectified once we have acquired that understanding.
All creation, including us, is basically perfect like the number 2. We are capable of, just as the number 2 is capable of, of being accurately represented. This is irrespective of how we presently perceive or misunderstand things.
If I wrote the number 2 down as 2.5 you would say rubbish, it is my mistake and not the number 2's mistake. The 2.5 needs rubbing out and replacing with the correct number 2. (which as an idea is eternally available)
The same positive approach must be used to reject the thought and hence appearance of disease.
