More info may help for ideas on that one!

Is it worse in bed at night or any particular time of day?

Does doing anything in particlar aggravate it?

    Do you smoke, etc.

From what you said so far - does sound most likley to be a contactant type allergic reaction. It's more obvious if they was something that you changed recently, but it's quite possible to become allergic to something you've used all your life.

You'll find stuff on allergies on these NAET web sites.

    http://www.naet.com/

    http://www.naeteurope.com/

Other lossibilities include:- Carpal tunnel syndrome - there's a current thread on that on HP. Compression of sensory nerves can give an altered sensation (parasthesia), such as itchiness, hot, cold, numbess, hypersensitivity, etc. []

You can email if having no luck cos further questions would get more personal.

    Hi Anahata

Thank you for the reply sweetie.

This itching is only on my hands, t started on my palms but it has moved to my fingers now too. I have not eaten or changed anything at all, I have wracked the ole brain over this and not come up with any new comings in my life, unless I have developed an alergy to something I have used for a long time.

The itching comes and goes, night times are the worst. Cold water seems to stop it, but I can't keep my hands in cold water all the time. I haven't tried any creams or lotions yet, for the fear that it will make it worse.

I think I may just pop to the docs and see if she can come up with anything.

    Hi
On a lighter not here when I was young My parents said there was an old saying. If the Left hand was itching you can expect to be given some money, if the right hand was itching you would have to expect to give or have it taken away. If both hands ??

Certainly sounds like chilblains to me. Its been a mild winter and damper so that could be why it has afflicted you. You need to keep your hands warm rather than soaking them in cold water. Before going outside, soak hands in warm water for several minutes to warm hands through then dry thoroughly. Years ago I used cream when I had chilblains on my feet, but I think these creams have steroids in them. If you want to try a natural remedy, you could try massaging your hands - Add 5 drops Geranium oil, 1 drop Black Pepper, 2 drops Rosemary oil to carrier oil and massage the affected areas.

Since you are not sure though - trip to the GP will put your mind at ease.

    Get well soon

    Hi Angle,

Me to! It's driving me crazy! Like you I have changed nothing so I am at a loss as to what it could be. It seems to be the half of the palm that is closest to the thumb and slowly moving up the index finger for me. Like you it comes and goes but at the moment it has gone crazy, and recently my feet have started as well!

I don't know if it the same for you but if I have been in the bath for a long time or go swimming then my hands don't just shrivel up the palms seem to blister and actually hurt!!!

There isn't even anything much to look at, you would think that you would have a rash or something to show the Dr but nothing!

If you find anything to help please post it here because like you it's driving me MAD!!! likewise if I find a cure or something to help I will let you know

    Luv Robyn X

    Hi Robyn

It's terrible isn't it. I never found a cure to mine, but I have put it down to 2 things, over Christmas, I was pretty stressed out over something personal in my life and now that has eased off so has the itchy palms.

Secondly, I am a Reiki 2 and was recently attuned when my palms started to itch, now when they itch, I just start to do a Reiki treatment on myself and my palms soon stop itching.

When I put my palms in water they would stop itching, strangely enough.

I hope yours clear up soon for you.

You may have Diabetes. If your palms itch like crazy at times especially at certain times - you may have diabetes Type II. I too was puzzled with the same problem. I went for a physical. I am not even overweight and I found I had diabetes. Funny thing I had none of teh usual symptoms, just itchy palms and soles of the feet (and my feet are very clean), Dr. told me the itching was caused by nerve disruptions caused by an onset of high blood sugar levels. You sould go for a blood and urine test and test for everything including blood sugar. 70 to 100 you are ok Over 120 to 190 Diabetes II Over that - you need to see a doctor fast.

    RE: Itchy Palms

    Hello Everyone,

I have suddenly been afflicted with itchy palms. It is the most bizarre thing, the center of my palms itch and the bottoms of my feet. In addition, occasionally, an itchy patch will pop up... I'll scratch and then it goes away. The first incident was a couple of weeks ago. The itching was insufferable. I went to the doctor and he thought it was most likely a chemical allergy (I had been painting the day before)or "stress". The symptoms have subsided, moderately; however, I still have itchy palms and feet. I am otherwise in good health; workout regularly, and have a somewhat balanced diet. I am female of 44 years of age. Any insight to this annoying condition is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was being driven mad by itchy palms, and visited a pharmacy and he told me it was athletes foot. So as soon as they were treated it soon dissapeared.
This was before I did reflexology and I didnt have it on my feet...so not sure how I picked it up

    Itchy palms

I am new to this group and came upon it when I put in "itchy palms" in the search engine. I, too, have been having this problem for 2 years and have been to several allergists and had a ton of blood tests run with no answers. I am wondering if those of you who have this problem are females in your 40's. (I am!) My thoughts are that maybe this is associated with the onset of menopause in some women. Believe me, I am grasping at any straw to try to come up with an answer to this maddening itching. For me, it started in my palms, moved to my wrists, neck, scalp, face and now appears in splotches in different places on my body at times. The palm itching and swelling is almost constant and much worse at night but feels better under cold water. I am desperate now for answers that the doctors can't seem to give me. Can anyone relate or provide some ideas on what this could be or, better yet, what can relieve it, for me?

    Thanks for reading all this!

    Same Problem

Found this thread from a google search looking for itchy palms. This started around 4 days ago. Like others have said, it's a lot worse during the evening...to the extent that it does wake me up. At first I thought I was possibly getting poison ivy so I bought some aveeno cream for that...didn't really help. My feet itch off and on but I can live with that...its the palms driving me crazy at this point. Hearing that some of you have had this for an extended period of time really scares me. Does it come and go or is this a constant thing? I have no visible rashes just wish it would go away. Any other input would be greatly appreciated.....

    B6 Maybe

Ok so my toddler has had itchy palms every morning for about a week. Started with his right palm and now is both. He has taken to rubbing his palms each morning on my husbands stubble on his face. LOL. Anyway started researching online. This is what I conclude.

He has an overabundance of B6 in his body. My mother has the same thing, and will hallucinate if she takes a b suppliment.

So I started giving my 2 1/2 year old a multi vitamin about a week ago, and the itchy palms started.

On web md when you go through the symptoms it says a possible diagnosis is Peripheral nuropathy.

When you google Vitamin Toxicity symptoms, B6 has that same symptom listed.

When I google the RDA for B6 I find 1.3mg daily for an adult, and the multi that I have been giving my son has 2mgs in it.

I can only assume that his body doesn't need the extra b6.

This may be an explanation for the itchy palms with out rash or bug bite or other visible cause.

Just a thought, but if I take any type of Ibuprofen medication, my palms itch like crazy. Then all the skin peels off my hands, starting around the fingers and then down the palms. My GP says it is most unusual but the manufacurer does declare this reaction on the leaflet under allergic reactions.

    Itchy Palms!!

Amazing came onto this thread ten minutes ago after keying 'itchy palms' into google and I possibly have the answer already!

It started last week driving me mad just itching in the middle of my palms (no rash) then a little soreness on my little finger followed, with a slight rash!

As soon as I saw your post i realised what it could be! I joined the gym last week! using sweaty grips on the machines also possibly a reaction to the metal, but it all fits! As i have never had it before to my knowledge then using these grips on the machines, that is the most likely thing!

Hail to the power of the internet!

    Hello there.

I woke up today with extremely itchy palms and bottoms of my feet. I had horrible hives yesterday from a soap a discovered I am allergic to, but those have mostly dissapeared(only about 2 or 3 left) and my hands and feet only itch when they come into contact with something(anything, so my feet itch when I walk). I can't seem to figure out why this is still happening because it has been at least 12 hours since the hives breakout, so I don't think it could still be an allergic reaction, could it?
