I'm exploring the idea that your inner state defines what you experience, or more precisely, to quote Dan Millman:

"You always get what you want. Your subconscious rightfully determines what energies, experiences and people you attract, therefore only the foolproof way to know what you want is to see what you have."

I have been thinking about this a lot as I'd like to find out how to change my life so that I am happier and more myself. There's a lot more but I don't know how to put it into words.

What do people think about this? Do you think it is true? Have you had any experience of being able to change your inner state to be more positive, and how did you do it?

    Hi mouse,

This is what Paul was saying to you over on the "Is it 'meant' to be? " thread .

    :)

Yes it is. I am wondering what other people think about this idea and if they have had any experiences of being able to change their inner state.

Oh right, I wasn't sure if you'd recognized that this was what Paul had been saying to you, and thought it might be useful to you to notice that there was someone around here who could 'take it from there', so to speak :)

change is hardly the word to describe it. It is utter and complete transformation.

My entire life has been a result of the urge you are talking about. and now I help others to unfold Truth within
My journey has been very intense but because of some inherent madness it has been easy and fun. Long and intense yet fun and mad as a hatter-if that makes any sense!

and yes your slightest, faintest rambling of an urge is heard... if your seeking is sincere, your urge honest, your decision solid, it happens. It is ready when you are trully done with your games and playing the victim

The only mistake people make is that they seek with their heads...its entirely a journey of the deepest heart connection. Head is cunning and it is survival based. heart is where your innocence is buried alive under all the mental, conceptual debris.

Heart takes the risk of opening itself to the unknown for true peace is in the realm of the unknown. Your mind cannot take you there- the only way is through heart and surrender.

    Hi mouse16
This is similar to what I understand and use, but to my understanding our subconscious or memory consciousness has to store things in a way that is in accordance with our core way of being which is a different aspect of consciousness, when we attempt to embrace something which does not fit in with either our core way of being or our true authentic self which is another aspect of our consciousness, then we get an inner conflict, which is caused by having two or more conflicting thought patterns and beliefs at the same time.

Not in the way that you have written it, my understanding is outlined in the above reply.

Yes I have learnt to do this for myself and created a healing modality around the process of healing and transforming aspects of consciousness to create wholeness and harmony, in place of conflict and strife.

I eventually achieved this for myself by embracing the fullness of self in an open and non-judgemental way, once I had achieved that I was then able to perceive the disharmony within the fullness of self and heal and transform it into wholeness.

I found that the biggest problem which slowed the whole process down for me, was through my misunderstandings of consciousness, I was leading myself round in circles, what I failed to comprehend for a long time, was that I was attempting to utilise exactly the same consciousness that I had used to create my inner conflicts and core way of being to perceive and transform them, this led me through many years of self judgements and rejection instead of the self acceptance which was required.

What you are proposing to do to self is possible, but it is not an easy thing to do, it took me about 35 years to learn how to do it to myself, but then I did not have the advantage of the internet or anyone else who understood consciousness in the way that I now do, to help me to understand what was happening.

Now that I understand the process, it takes very little time for me to utilise my wholeness that I create and maintain within the fullness of self, to consciously transform someone else's inner conflicts into wholeness and harmony.

If you keep in mind that our general state of health and wellbeing is a direct reflection of our underlying state of consciousness, that everything begins and ends with a thought and wholeness will create wholeness and conflict will to create conflict, then that will help you to move towards achieving your goal of creating and experiencing wholeness within the fullness of self. :)

    Are you serious?

if you really want to know the first step and the last, perhaps get in touch. A discussion form is hardly a place where anyone can take you all the way to your inner truth. It can be an excellent starting point though... These things unfold in a deep heart connection and a lot of unlearning to do before heart opens up

Thanks, I have been turning this over in my mind (and of course it is a carry on from the other thread where we were discussing something similar so I hope you don't think I didn't take that on board). I'm actually trying to get to the bottom of it in my mind (which is a crazy tendency of mine!) and I always find it easiest to understand things in relation to peoples actual experiences.

Yes, of course! I am genuinely trying to figure this out, albeit in my limited way. And yes, a discussion form is hardly to place for someone to take you to your inner truth but I am not asking for that. I am using this forum as a sounding board and it is interesting to discuss surely? Sometimes people will say things that chime and start you off in the direction you need. When they do you recognize them.......

    Hi Mouse16

I'm so glad that you are asking all these questions, it's really helping reading the replies. I started asking similar things about 12 - 18 months ago and it has been a very bumpy journey.. highs, lows and insights... but so glad I started it. I know there is nowhere to 'get to' as I'm already 'there' but for me it's unpeeling the layers of my beliefs which I then act as though are true. Hope I'm making some sense!

I got really fed-up (I mean really fed up) and started to ask God (I'm not religious in the going to church sense) to show me how to be peaceful. I asked a lot, day after day (not sure if that was necessary). It was so interesting then what books and people I was guided towards, and I did start to experience peace as I have never felt it before.

More recently I have been asking God to show me what the world truely is and what I truely am, rather than the masks I wear (thank you Giles for that great analogy) and the way I presently see the world through my past experiences. Again, people, ideas, videos have been put in my path - the cancer video is the perfect answer to the question I was asking, as are all these brilliant discusssions on Healthypages and you asking the questions!!!!

So keep on asking and keep on listening until you get the answers you seek... the world will show you what you ask for.
    With love
    Vanessa

    Hi there,

Thank you for such a nice positive post! Everything you say resonates with me; I've been asking questions and searching like this for years (so I'm not much of an advert for it! :) ) Have long felt an urge deep within to find these things out, to search and search. Also would like to be useful in this world, I feel like I could be. It may take some time.

I wanted to put an update on this. I am trying to accept things as they are. It is really hard but I am trying to just pause every so often and 'accept'. I am hoping that life will start to flow through me and things will change.
