I have been suffering from cramp attacks for over a year. Its not leg cramp at night, Its mainly hand and foot cramp that strikes during the day. The foot cramp nearly always happens when I am doing qigong,

My doctor has discovered I have a high magnesium.....but no other abnormal results and I am being refereed to a consultant who specialises in abnormal magnesium levels

All the TCM stuff I have been able to find relates to the normal night leg cramps....so does anyone on here have any suggestions for TCM solutions that might be some use.

The cramps only started since regular qigong practice became normal for me,,,,and I don;t rule out the possibility that it is some kind of healing reaction....but a year of healing reaction feels wrong.

Cramps are a typical sign of Mag Phos,a 12 tissue remedy. It is highly effective without side effects

Are you drinking enough fluids? Are you drinking too much water?

Do you do any other activities apart from chi kung?

I know a little about tissue salt remedies....but I have just ben told my Magnesium levels are too high.......so I don;t think I want to start taking any magnesium product. I am not sure the cramp is related to the high Magnesium.....but I am being referred to an endocrinologist

Thank you for the replies, I intend to see what the endocrinologist says and then decide whether I like his suggestion or not

These remedies are mostly balancing salts. They rectify the chemical balance of the tissues . -a symptom is not necessarily caused by lack, but by imbalance.
But your plan to check with the expert is excellent.

I still wouldn't feel a magnesium based remedy was appropriate but I can appreciate the importance of balance since I know Magnesium is associated with both Calcium and Potassium. Very interestingly one of my psychic friends who knew nothing beyond the fact that I had a problem with cramp said she had been given a message that the problem was with Magnesium and Potassium. And you need rather more than a layman's knowledge to connect those two so I am confident she didn't just google it... I guess I just have to what and see what the blood tests say but certainly at the time of the first blood test my other electrolytes were within normal range....but that was last February. (Don't ask why I have only just been told about the abnormal Magnesium
......I think my surgeon is probably going to ask my GP that more effectively than I can.......)
